Poor Boy

Last week Ash got CROUP.
We have never had it in our house b4, so
it was quite scary for us!!
It started with him complaining of a sore
throat, and then QUICKLY progressed
into him pretty much not being able
to talk or even breathe very well.
At 5 am Quinn finally took him to
Wee Care, where he got a steroid shot
and Ash was soo brave he said he did
not even cry. It was an amazing
difference from the time he left to when
he returned, how much better he sounded.
The Dr said it was like he was trying to
breathe through a straw. He wasn't losing
oxygen, but he was definitely struggling! Today is the first day, he seems to have most of
his 3 year old energy (and attitude)back and
for once I am grateful for that. He mostly just has
a cough left, which sounds more like a cold
related cough. We have been praying that
no one else, especially Nalu, gets the
AWFUL CROUP
and we have lucky so far...

Croup is awful and very scary to see your child struggling for breath. We had that happen with one of our boys and he almost landed in the hospital a few years ago. My husband had to sleep on the floor beside his bed just to see if he was still breathing throughout the night. Crazy stuff! Glad your little guy is ok and hope you don't have to go through that again!
